Skillz Victory Truck Brings Live Competition to Game Developers Conference Attendees

Skillz will be premiering the Skillz Victory Truck, a live interactive mobile activation truck, at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, March 17-21. The Skillz Victory Truck, believed to be the first of its kind for skill-based, live mobile competitions, will be located outside the Moscone Center in Yerba Gardens, near the carousel.

GDC attendees and local visitors are invited to join live competitions and tournaments by playing Skillz games on the truck’s multi-screen setup. Bracket-style competitions and multiple daily, time-specific live tournaments will feature a variety of prizes, including luxury items, technology, and Skillz bonus cash.

Schedule of Events for the Skillz Victory Truck (Monday–Friday):

Skillz Trivia Showdown: 9–11 a.m. and 12–4 p.m. M-Th / 9–11 a.m. and 12–2 p.m. Friday
A fast-paced, gaming-industry trivia game, open to four participants at a time, competing for Skillz bonus cash.

Skillz GDC Circuit: 11 a.m.–12 p.m. daily
Featuring Skillz’s most popular games, each attendee will receive two free entries. Games include:

  • Blackout Blackjack (Monday)
  • Strike! By Bowlero (Tuesday)
  • Blackout Bingo (Wednesday)
  • Yatzy Cash (Thursday)
  • Blackout Poker (Friday)

Skillz GDC Championship: 9 a.m.–4 p.m. M-Th / 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Friday *- Same game schedule as live tournaments.
Players can rack up high scores and climb the leaderboard to win prizes.

About the Skillz Developer Accelerator
In addition to these consumer-facing events, Skillz’s business development team will be onsite at the truck and at different events to meet with developers and vendors to promote the Skillz Developer Accelerator.
The Skillz Developer Accelerator program will allocate up to $75 million of cash on hand over the next three years to strategically support the development and marketing of new skill-based mobile games. Skillz management will determine the extent and specifics of support on a case-by-case basis.
